Western Australia

Western Australia, or 'WA' as it is known, is Australia's largest state and has a varied climate and natural environment. Although it is the largest state the population is not as large as some of the other states because of the lot of the area is semi-arid and not suitable for habitation. The south-west corner of the state enjoys an excellent climate and it is here that the Western Australian universities can be found. Despite its small population, WA enjoys an enviable reputation for the quality of its higher education sector and whether you study in Perth or study in Western Australia you will enjoy the very best of what Australia's higher education sector has to offer.

Perth is the capital of Western Australia. Perth is a very vibrant and modern city situated on the Swan River and only a few kilometres from the beaches, Perth enjoys a Mediterranean climate with more hours of sunshine than any other Australian capital, just the place for students to relax and recharge for the task of academic study.

Northern Territory

Darwin is the capital of the Northern Territory, and enjoys a relaxed, tropical lifestyle. Darwin is an ideal base for visits to spectacular World Heritage areas including Kakadu National Park. Darwin has grown from an early and remote outpost to a thriving modern capital city. As well as galleries and museums, there are nightclubs, theatres, restaurants and a casino. The city houses an amazing history including 3 cyclones, with its worst being Cyclone Tracy in 1974, which destroyed most of the town. Darwin was miraculously rebuilt after the disaster and now houses many galleries and museums, including many Aboriginal collections. Aboriginal culture is very much etched into the community.

South Australia

Choosing to study at one of the universities in South Australia means you will be selecting a university with an established history of providing a supportive and productive learning environment for all types of students. New South Wales and Australian Capital Territories

New South Wales has the largest population of any Australian state and offers students an excellent climate that allows for year round swimming and surfing in the north of the state and skiing in the mountain regions during the winter. The state has become the clear leader in Australian business and has also led the way in the development of the higher education sector with many quality NSW universities providing learning opportunities that satisfy all requirements, from learn English ELICOS through to DBA and Phd.

New South Wales Universities

The Australian Capital Territory, containing the National Capital of Canberra, is located in the south eastern corner of New South Wales. It is the only state or territory in Australia that does not have a coastline. It lies approximately half way between Sydney and Melbourne. This location was selected in 1908, as it was diplomatically located between arch rivals Sydney and Melbourne, who both wanted to be the capital city of Australia. To satisfy both parties the decided to create another territory half way between each city and declare it the capital of Australia.

Victoria

The Victorian universities sector is focused on the capital city Melbourne, but like business, industry and government there is also a major representation of universities in the regional cities. Some of the universities have multiple campuses so there is a choice about where the studies are done. Learning can take different forms including living and studying right in the centre of the capital city and enjoying the same high quality education within the relaxed atmosphere of a regional campus.
